In fact all my playthoughs this week have not had the abyssal depths show up. Its so frustraiting that you have to not drop below half health for 5 stages and then find out it was all for nothing apparently. Huntress can leap faster here than other survivors. Secondly, if you happen to visit the cave, go to its left entrance, and near the rocks, you may find a Newt Altar.
Lastly, inside the cave, there are large straight crystals. Under these yellow crystals, you will find another possible location for a Newt Altar. Abyssal Depths also guarantee the spawn of a legendary chest in the environment. Nine out of ten times, the location for this top-tier loot box is the same. The thing with these legendary chests is that they always guarantee at least one legendary item or equipment.
However, the promise of containing a legendary item inside the chest comes at a price. It is why a legendary chest is sixteen times more expensive than a regular small chest. To find a legendary chest in Abyssal Depths, you need to go to the center of the stage near three giant boulders.
Once you are there, look for a gap between two small rocks covered by some sort of vegetation. In addition, your name tag will appear over the chest and on the left side of the message-box as well. See the images here for reference.
Another underlying factor for which Risk of Rain 2 Abyssal Depths has become the most demanded stage is Rex: half-robot-half-plant playable class. Yes, you can unlock this survivor if you stumbled upon this environment. If not, there is no other way to unlock and play with Rex.
However, you also need to have a unique item to interact with the robot and make it playable in your future runs.
Check out our guide mentioned above for more on that. Unlike Captain or other survivors, for that matter, playing with Rex requires finesse. This playable class lands damage at the expense of sacrificing own health. Many players see this as a weak point for the half-robot-half-plant character in Risk of Rain 2, which is, in a way, true.
As mentioned earlier, the Abyssal Depths environment does not spawn Shrine of Blood in the environment. Well, there are no direct answers as to why this happens. However, we have a solid theory that rationalizes the absence of said shrine in the area. Shrine of Blood, unlike Shrine of Order , incentives the players at the cost of their health.
You can find REX on a high platform near the center of the map. To reach the platform, jump on one of the vents that shoots you into the air. Once on the high platforms, look around for REX, who will appear as a broken robot. Check out this complete guide on REX to learn more about how to unlock and play as him.
Abyssal Depths also has a cave system Like other maps in Risk of Rain 2, there are doors that allow access to certain areas. There is a chance that these doors will be closed when you spawn, though. When running around the Abyssal Depths, it's very easy to forget about these caves. It's possible for the teleporter to spawn in here, and many people can miss it.
The cave can also contain chests and Multishop terminals, so make sure to explore it! Like every other environment, Abyssal Depths has a few Newt Altars that can spawn in different parts of the map. There are three possible locations for the altar.
Risk of Rain 2 features 16 different artifacts that create different challenges for players. To unlock artifacts, you have to go to the underground layer of Sky Meadow and input a code.
Most people search for these codes; we even have a guide for every code here on TheGamer. The 'official' way to find these codes is by searching through different stages.
The codes appear on tablets that are scattered across the world. You must find the codes, take note, and enter the code in Sky Meadow.
